Community Participation Program
This program aims to assist young people with moderate to very high support needs to achieve their expressed goals, increase independence and become a valued participating member of the
community.

Day Service
Our Community Access Program encompasses Day Service Programs operating out of Pymble, Turramurra, Frenchs Forest and Blacktown and currently supports over 55 adults. Clients are driven to the centre and participate in the days activities. Experienced staff members support clients to participate in activities, assist with meals and all other aspects of daily living. The content and structure of the programs are carefully planned and are chosen to promote skills such as choice, interaction, socialisation, accompanied travel, responsible citizenship, basic etiquette and basic personal hygiene.

Seniors Day Service Program
This service caters to frail aged clients with intellectual disabilities who have moderate to high support needs. Most often, clients who attend this service also experience physical disabilities and health issues associated with ageing and dementia.

The program organises age appropriate activities, outings and skills development with staff members being experienced in dealing specifically with age related psychological, emotional and health issues. All programs encompass recreational and community access activities.

Transition To Work
Transition to Work addresses the needs of people with intellectual disabilities who have recently left school and are preparing to enter the workforce.

This program supports school leavers to gain specific work skills and experiences in a variety of industries. We also have a strong commitment to the development of social and communication skills, money management, and independent travel. We support participants to develop and maintain a long term focus on health & wellbeing, self esteem, and independence.

Our program is structured in a way which enables participants to engage in job-specific TAFE &/or Community College courses. Acquired skills are practiced with staff support in the community and at a variety of work experience placements.

Our aim is to offer support for participants and their families in assisting them to enhance and increase their many roles in the community. It is an important opportunity for participants to explore options and discover new possibilities for an exciting and successful future.

Life Choices & Active Ageing
The Life Choices & Active Ageing programs are part of the ‘New Directions in Day Programs’ initiative from ADHC. Sunshine offers individuals the Individual Community Based, and Centre Based with Community Access models.

Outlets offering these programs are available in Blacktown, Frenchs Forest, Pymble, St. Ives, Turramurra, Hawkesbury and Wyong areas Each individual involved in this service is encouraged and fully supported to design their own program/plan in consultation with family members &/or other significant people.

We are committed to participant’s long term independence, health, wellbeing, recreation and social networking, skill development, & maintenance of their valued roles in the community. All options and activities depend on individual’s specific interests and needs, and evolve and change as required.
